Jimmy Carter, National Nobel Peace Prize Winner of 2002

Jimmy Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize because of the decades of work trying to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts and increasing the not only the social, but the economic justice too. His actions were global because he cared to much about the WHOLE world to just change the local social and economic justice. Jimmy Carter did most when he was president, he tried to stop the army from using nuclear weapons. But the work he did after being president is very noticeable too. He began a program called "The Carter Center", which was founded in 1982. It is a program that supports our human rights around the world. This program has been very successful it has helped make more lives more valuable and made them have larger quality in more than 70 countries! John Carter really didn't use any media channels. He did a poor job of getting it out there. The best thing that happened that made it noticeable was the fact that he was an ex-president and when he won the Nobel Peace Prize. I thought that John Carter would inspire me in some way but that didn't happen. He was a good president and had good intentions with everything he has been trying to do but they didn't work out very well. I respect his efforts though.
